Shopping Victoriously
I want to say that I think the Ebay campaign is genius, but that’s not why I am writing. I am writing because I, in fact did shop victoriously. Like the commercial suggests however there is something like a gambling addiction to it. I bought what I’ve been long lusting for, a really good medium format camera. It takes me back to film, I’m not getting or contemplating a digital back, it’s manual, it’s heavy, it’s a Mamiya, i love it. However, I have now been scouring Ebay non stop. Clearly I need a strap - why pay 39 dollars? And there is the waist level view finder. I bought the camera with a Prism viewfinder that has a lovely light meter, but i’m finding for some situations full view and waist level with a magnifier would just help that little extra bit. Len there is the lens. It came with a mint 80mm at 2.8, but who am i kidding, i need wide - so again I scour and what do i find a mint 40mm at 2.8. It’s an addiction. Tonight I’m going to decide about other things, like grips. I have a flash, but maybe another? I need to see if my transmitter works. But the best, is being able to shoot with Fuji Velvia - actual film. Now we get to see if I remember how to work a camera
I’ll post photos when I get them and a review, for now i’m just giddy. Oh and of course i loaded the film backwards the first time - go me.
